How do I choose the right size light fixture for a room?
For ceiling fixtures, add the room's length and width in feet, then use that number in inches as a rough fixture diameter guide, so a 12x14 room suggests a 26-inch fixture. Wall and table fixtures should scale to the furniture nearby rather than the room overall, staying proportional to what they're lighting.

What's the difference between warm white and cool white LED bulbs?
Warm white, around 2700 to 3000K, produces a cozy, yellow-toned light suited to living rooms and bedrooms, while cool white, 4000K and above, gives a brighter, more energizing light better suited to kitchens and workspaces. Most fixtures list a recommended bulb temperature, but many LED bulbs also let you adjust this after installation.

Do LED fixtures require special bulbs, or do they use standard sockets?
Most LED fixtures use standard E26 or E12 sockets compatible with common replacement bulbs, though some integrated LED fixtures have the light source built in and aren't designed for bulb replacement at all.
